HMS St Albans Visited Holyhead for the North Wales Armed Forces Day

On Friday 24th May 2019, to celebrate North Wales Armed Forces Day and Freedom of the County Ceremony, we were pleased to be part of welcoming HMS St Albans to the Holyhead port and our jetty. Some 250 members of the public enjoyed a free tour of the ship.

HMS St Albans is the UK’s on-duty warship, and is sailed by a crew of 185. She is a versatile Type 23 Frigate and the most recent addition to the Royal Navy frigate fleet.

With five Radar systems, six Sonar systems and eight Weapon systems, St Albans is one of the most versatile warships in the world and has sailed more than 38,000 miles on Operation Kipion working with carrier task groups.
