Orthios' aquaculture facilities, with co-located energy supply, have the capacity to produce large volumes of high-value warm-water fish and prawns each year. In partnership with leading experts, Orthios has designed a prawn nursery with a 70,000 kg per annum on-growing centre. This would be the first phase of the aquaculture project, with an additional two 70,000 kg on-growing centres planned for future development. Integration of fish production and greenhouse grown marine ‘vegetables’, helps to minimise CO2 emissions and nutrient waste from the aquaculture facilities.

In our aquaculture centre, careers will be available in areas including:

  •  Water treatment and purification
  •  Water management, irrigation, pumping
  •  Marine stock management
  •  Stock harvesting
  •  Quality control and packaging
  •  Logistics
  •  Nutrient management
  •  Marine food development and production
  •  Project management
  •  Marine husbandry
  •  Toxicology
  •  Marine pathology
